Comfortable modernity
Grit Seymour's second collection reconfirms the designer's somber, elegant, comfortable and modern style. The skirts are cut on the asymmetrical bias and are paired with short button-down or sporty jackets with kangaroo pockets. The skirt lengths vary between under the knee and very short (rare this season). The details stolen from sportswear themes are modified: drawstrings on tops and pants with personalized stoppers, velcro tightening tabs on pants, kangaroo pockets on coats and sweaters, patch pockets on the thighs of low-waisted pants, pants in high-tech canvas, trench coats, jackets with diagonal zippers, sweat suits... The careful choice and clever use of innovative materials is particularly noteworthy, especially the unusual effects with coated cotton, paper, quilted double-face nylon, and in particular the remarkable "space hippie" theme where transparent nylon is associated with superpositions of silk veil and fringed cashmere, and transparent vests are lined with white fur. There were also beautiful coats, belted in the front or back, with small rising collars or asymmetrical necklines. The wide range of materials includes luxurious wool, cashmere, loden, silk and angora, boiled wool or tight satin jersey for the long skirts and suede for ensembles and coats. The color palette incorporates white, ecru, camel, pale gold and black, as well as a cheerful softened orange and invigorating subtle greens.
