Refined glamour
Michel Klein knows how to play with fluidity and simple lines to create an exquisitely elegant silhouette and outfits which one correctly imagines to be incomparably comfortable. Impeccable white shirts with discreet slits on the back and sleeves, low-waisted pants in fine navy wool, t-shirts with small bubble sleeves over asymmetrically pleated skirts or brown lycra-canvas pants, small, fluid jersey dresses and wraparound skirts in viscose knit constitute a distinguished style. The giant checkered damier theme, beige-brown, black-white or black-orange, brings an interesting graphic effect, along with the three-toned white, yellow and black stretch taffeta dress. Long v-neck sweaters over asymmetrically pleated skirts possess a "belle sportive" look evocative of the 1920s. The Chinese jacket, a Michel Klein standard, is redone in orange goat hair or graphic knit over large pants. For a sportier look, there is the transparent nylon trench coat over a taffeta culotte, a bustier swimsuit, the "look at my legs" swimming costume or the glamorous structured 1940s suit. The vests and pea jackets in thick cotton mousse lend a bit of density to the predominantly slick silhouette The evening dresses, tunic/long skirt ensembles in jersey and cotton saris have an antique air about them, styled like the togas of ancient Greek maidens. To finish off, a black sequined dress in hand-knit ribbon or a long white hand-knit dress decorated with pearls and fringe, reminiscent of the crochet dresses of the previous collection.
