Urban comfort
The presentation of José Levy's second exclusively feminine collection also served as the opening for his new Parisian boutique during fashion week. Once again, it is a collection defined by its subtlety. The show began with a grey theme, ranging from pearl to charcoal grey, including extra-long skirts topped with straight jackets with oblique yokes or small zippered short-sleeve knit jackets, shirts with unusual optical effects paired with quilted, pleated skirts, tight-fitting dresses with boatneck collars, long tunics over ankle-length skirts, menswear-inspired trouser suits and merino wool turtleneck truck driver's sweaters, all of which translates into a comfortable, modern, urban style. As usual, it is the details that make the difference: Lurex highlighting, giant pockets on parkas and pea coats, materials with optical effects. A second theme gently introduced color, with soft orange, pink and beige tones. Once again we find ankle-length skirts, worn with small sweaters with low-cut backs, and long tunics over pleated skirts. There are also knee-length skirts in wool with either a braided or micro-tweed texture, short pants, pinafore dresses and suits with long skirts and jackets belted under the bust. A sweater and an ensemble in a unique twenty-eight color knit echo a colorful theme from the men's collection. For evening there are tuxedos, suits with long skirts and backless dresses in high-tech fabrics, in shades of deep indigo and midnight blue, highlighted on the bias with satin and showers or circles of embroidered mercury pearls.
