Jungle love
Franck Sorbier continues to send us on fantasy-filled daydreams. This season, he shares with us his adaptation of The Jungle Book. The designer himself sets the tone by making an appearance, as a preface to the show, dressed in a simple pareo and carrying a sign marked "I feel like Mowgli" on one side and "L'amour c'est plus fort" (love is stronger) on the other. To the sound of jungle birds his poetic and childishly imaginative but inspired and masterfully constructed collection is revealed to us. A Jane-esque multicolored loincloth skirt assembled from tied ribbons, fluid pants with naïve animal prints, finely fringed tops and skirts, jackets with exotic embroidery of Indian or Mayan inspiration with delicate threads escaping here and there, an evening dress with a luxurious corset assembled from ferns and ivy and a skirt in a duckweed print, fluid pants and tunic ensembles in ecological prints, structured jackets with African-inspired interlaced embroidery, marriages of fluorescent organza for shorts, bandeaus or shiny pants ensembles, dresses composed of silk fringe or petals of fabric, mother-of-pearl embroidery, pants with escaping airy tufts, petticoats with thin bands of multicolored or fuzzy tulle under swinging skirts, reptilian coats,... and suddenly, impeccable suits with high collars and asymmetrical skirts in white or navy blue. The colors are those of a tropical forest and its sweltering heat: leafy, kakhi or bright greens, spicy earth tones such as orange, chocolate and straw, dynamic fluorescents in fuchsia, green, yellow or orange, or tender tones of salmon, pink and lavender. Following tradition, the designer asked his team of artists to accompany him in saluting the collection.
